Be more exhaustive on what you mean by "everything", because otherwise we'll end up suggesting you do things you already tried.

Do the fans spin? Does the motherboard beep? Have you tried the iGPU? Does the pc turn itself off instantly? Does it do anything different if you remove the graphics card? Did you separately test each ram slot/dimm?

I don't know how I'd do that and all the standoffs are in

@SlyTroopah

RAM worked fine before I switched the cases

just dont use a case is what @LeapFrogMasterRace was saying. To turn it on use a flat metal piece (usually a flat head screw driver) instead of the wire you would traditional use with the case power button.

Did you have an extra standoff in the case? Less standoff isnt an issue but any extra can potentially short the motherboard.

But I suspect it's got something to do with either the CMOS battery or the CPU seating. The last time I saw something along your problem was when my motherboard pin got bent without me removing the CPU at all. Also a dying CMOS battery might cause that too.

Lol when upgrading from an i3 to my current i5 I somehow bent one of the pins, attempted to bend it back then it snapped off XD. Sill works like nothing happened and Im oc @ 4.8ghz  - Just thought I would share.

You got a broken pin and it still works? What dark magic is this?

I actually got like 5 pins bent somehow but my time dealing with LGA 478s and AM3s has trained me well.....the B85m-G43 has survived through more issues than all my other mobos combined :P

The pin he snapped off probably wasn't used for anything important, maybe one his PCI-E lanes is forever broken or something.

I've heard that certain pins can be bent and nothing abnormal will occur.

@Sauron

sorry for the late reply

phone can't stay on for more than five minutes and died as I was typing

I don't think I've tried everything I think I was just frustrated

Fans and LEDs turn on and run fine

if I remove the RAM I get beeps

if I remove the GPU nothing happens

Tried removing the battery and trying again after awhile too didn't work

as for outside the case

its all wired in the back of the case I can't really take it out

CPU sounds like the biggest suspect here then. This has got nothing to do with standoffs. Pull it out and check the socket and pin connectors on the CPU for damages. If there arent any visible ones, try putting in another CPU if you happen to have one lying around. My money's on that youve bent a pin or a few.

Wait. Youre on AM3 and you didn't remove the CPU? That just tossed my theory out the window lol. It's almost impossible to bend a pin on a AM3 without removing it.

Check all of your cable connections. 4/8Pin EPS and CPU cooler pins especially. If nothing else works, pull the board out of the case and do an open bench trial and error trouble shoot lol.

as a bus boy that's paid minimum wage I don't have a lot of stuff

Hmmmm.....well this is why I keep a shitty set of parts with me at home so i can at least troubleshoot effectively :P

Im out of ideas mate. There are only so many reasons why a system wont POST at all but if you cant test any of them out there isnt really a way to find the problem and rectify it :/

Actually AM3+ boards are backwards compatible. So if you can find a shitty, BUT PROVEN WORKING AM2 CPU which should cost less than 10 bucks you can test out whether if its the CPU that went bad. If it isnt then its the mobo or the PSU.
