Hello, I have a problem with cables in my PC. I want to plug in new SSD, but I found out there were only 2 sata power cables. 1 for CD/DVD ROM drive and the other for HDD. These 2 mentioned cables split into 2 and 1 is always unplugged. Can it be used and work? I mean... it comes from power supply with 5 wires into the HDD and then there are 5 wires going out... can you please help me? Can I use the 5 extra wires?

It looks like this:

It's just delivering power across those connectors, I've had quite a few computers with non-modular power supplies which had all the SATA connectors for power on a single bundle.

PC - NZXT H510 Elite, Ryzen 5600, 16GB DDR3200 2x8GB, EVGA 3070 FTW3 Ultra, Asus VG278HQ 165hz,

Mac - 1.4ghz i5, 4GB DDR3 1600mhz, Intel HD 5000.  x2

Endlessly wishing for a BBQ in space.

Oh no, the power sata cable doesn't fit to the SSD (Kingston Now UV400 240GB, SUV400S37/240G). I can't push it more than 1/3 (even if I use more force) and it goes out easily. :(

Then I found out that normal sata cable for data transfer is eSATA not SATA, so I will have to buy another one -_-

I have one more question. Does 1600MHz RAM CL 10-10-10 or whatever need to be running at these frequencies / timings etc.? Can it work at 1066Mhz CL 7-7-7?

This is my RAM: http://www.kingston.com/en/memory/search/?partid=hx316c10fb/4

The problem I have is that BIOS doesn't save changes made to frequency (but it does save timings)... maybe it's because of Windows 10? There used to be a RAM running at the slow speeds (1066MHz, 7-7-7) at Windows 7, that could be a reason too.
