Hello guys i have recently looked into starting a little game development with some programs havent chosen my main yet ( CryEngine, Unreal4, Blender, and Unity) as of right now im running on a 3570k OC to 4.2 would go to 4.5 but dont have the cooling to do it. yet with a r9 270x and 16 gigs of ram now will i need to upgrade to an i7 like the 3770k or better with more ram, or go to a new platform like skylake ( or zen) with the i7 6700k  ( whatever zen equivalent will be). Also will 16 GB of memory be enough or should i go to 32?

There aren't too many game devs on here, but unreal engine 4, and the cryengine may need more gpu power then what a 270x can provide especially if you want to run the finished games at the max settings they can go.

With ram, I would say try 16gb, and if you start hitting close to 100% usage then upgrade.
