So my case is made out of aluminum, meaning non-magnetic. I am aware the NZXT Hue+ has a magnetic and adhesive mounting option. But since I can't use the magnets, which sucks cause that really defeats the "reuse-ability" of it, and I don't really want to use the adhesive because once its on my case, I can't take it off or reposition it or possibly reuse it for another PC build. Any tips or advice on my situation?

You can always replace the adhesive with 3M mounting tape if your plan to move it around but another option would be to use a ferrous strip that you adhere into place to let you magnetically mount it in the case.

One of my y personal favorite things for LED's is to get some aluminum channel and diffuser for LED's and have it rigid so that you can easily move around and mount with a just a little square or double stick or velcro.

Aluminum channel and diffuser? what are those? That's a good idea about using a ferrous strip. Don't know much but judging from the name, ferrous for iron (Chemistry), makes it magnetic.

Something like this, it would allow you to cut to to size and install the LED's inside, there are frosted white/translucent versions also which are very good for diffusing light and preventing reflections from parts or surfaces inside the case. For the ferrous strip basically, the magnets in the LED's will readily be attracted to it.

The adhesive is fine to hold it up and to move and reposition it. I have one in my air 540 and they hold up fine and i can pull them off and move them about and the adhesive still sticks. Also as W-L said you can just replace the tape with some double sided, its pretty easy to do.

hope this helped

I was afraid that the 3M on the Hue+ would wear out

Its actually pretty good, I had a problem with my HUE+ so i was pulling out and putting back the strips constantly. Relying on the tape mostly.
