Gpu tweak rx 470 issue

So i recently bought an asus strix rx 470, the card works great but it seems like the fans go from 0% to around 44% instantly. I then tried to fix this with gpu tweak by making a custom fan curve but it seems like it wont allow me to make the percentage of the fan speed lower than 44%. (i have tried msi afterburner custom fan curves but the gpu ignored the new fan curve and went to 44% instantly after reaching 60c).

 

P.S i have a feeling its the gpu bios that needs to be updated but i cant seem to find a new version anywhere

I've got the Asus Strix RX-480, a very similar card and it would sometimes do the same thing; occasionally going turbo jet-engine mode for about 10 seconds.

Can you show me a screenshot of your Radeon/Wattman settings?

Also what driver are you running? 16.9.2 just came out yesterday.

ya im running 16.8.2 im installing the new update as we speak, also i cant seem to find the actual settings (all i can find is the radeon settings thing but no real settings)

Don't worry it took me awhile to find it too. Go to the Gaming tab, then Global Settings, then Global Wattman. Then show me a screenshot of that please.

I've found that my card doesn't get along with any other software that has access to its settings. Whenever I had something like SpeedFan even monitoring it, it'd occasionally freak out.
