Can you guys rate my upcoming build from a scale of 1-10 (including decimals)

 

GTX 950 strix

250GB SSD

Gigabyte Z170-HD3

i5-6500

Cooler Master B500 V2 500W

Crucial 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 2400MHz Ballistix Sport

 

i don't plan to overclock this rig so please don't judge me for not having a "k" CPU

4, mediocre psu, unnecessary motherboard. rest are fine, but get an i5 6400, 120gb ssd and swap out the z170 for a h110 mobo and get an rx 470/480 and a better psu if possible.

If you don't plan to overclock, you don't need a Z series motherboard. you could actually save a lot on your motherbaord choice and get a better GPU, PSU, and/or more RAM with the saved money. .

 

The build itself is alright. 5/10. It should function well enough. but you could balance the spending better to get a more effective computer imo. if you give us a budget amount we might be able to help you out with that.

If you don't plan to overclock, then get a B150, H110. No need for Z170 motherboard. I would change the PSU to an EVGA, better GPU.
