Hello all, so I am just getting into PC gaming and brought my rig 2 years ago. At the time I got the cheapest I could figuring that I could upgrade later. So the thing is I've already upgraded my GPU and PSU, but I noticed that while the games run great my recording, and streams had dropped frames. So when I asked a friend they suggested that I needed a new CPU. Now I know my motherboard is an 760GMA-P34 (FX), and that my CPU was an AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad-Core Processor. So I need some help to find out what's the best CPU upgrade that I can get for my computer. Also my PSU is a 750w, so I wouldn't know how that factors in.

You can either encode via NVENC (Nvidia's encoder, relies on GPU, used in Shadowplay), or X264 (CPU), by the way, so your friend may not exactly be on point. Apologies, don't know if there's an AMD one. Not that having an FX-4300 is perfect, but I can't validate that opinion so whatever.

The only other reason I can see you dropping frames is related to your internet connection/upload speed. What are the stats for those?

So for streaming I know it's bad so I'm not too concerned about that. What I'm more worried about is when I watch the recording of gameplay I did so I can upload it to YouTube, I noticed a lot of dropped frames. I just want to know about streaming for later on.

Ok I just checked it and it was at default at 2500 kbps, and since my internet is potato my upload speed is 629kbps so yeah. So not going to work for streaming until I get a better internet, but what about just recording for YouTube? What setting should I have it on?
