I just bought a LG 4K tv (55UH652T) and im testing out 4k on it, currently using a GTX 1070, but when im playing i notice like screen tear, normally only happens when the camera moves around, Im using a HDMI 1.4 cable, im assuming thats the reason its causing the screen tear, the tv is also 100HZ, Anyone have any other ways to get around it without having to buy a new cable ?

it might not actually be that amount of hz.

https://www.cnet.com/news/fake-refresh-rates-is-your-tv-really-120hz/

edit: yea its one of those fake refresh rates. "100 hz field refresh rate" its probably just half that so its a 50hz panel and probably a 100 hz backlight. try setting your fps limit to 50.

alright worth a shot, because like if im playing a game and its just still or not moving the camera no tear then once u move camera it tears which seemed odd

If you already have a high speed cable, there should be no need for a different cable. But if it isn't it could be the cause. However since you mention it runs already 60Hz I don't think it's the cable.

But you can surely try a different cable, just don't spend a gaziljon dosh on it. There is no need for that.

If your not using a HDMI 2.0 lead then you'll be limited to 30fps. Turning on v sync would make it worse as it's capping the refresh rate at 59-60fps of the tv is indeed 60hz.

It might be a rarity and actually be a 100hz tv.. But then again unless your surpassing 100fps v sync is pointless and you'll get slowdown.

Chances are it's 100hz back light storbe and still 60hz as that's what v sync has capped it to.

So your problem most likely lies with HDMI 1.4 cable. Your tv may not even support 2.0.. as well movies and tv shows normally output at much less than 60fps.

With a 100Hz tv you would still have PC resolution on 60Hz.

If it was a genuine 100hz panel you'd set it to 100hz! Those extra 40hz make a huge difference lol.

But tv's just use back light strobing as a measure of hz instead

lock the games games to 30fps. easyest way would be in nvidia control panel. see if that helps. it could be that you tv is actually an ntsc 50hz display.
