My question is, why are you using a 4790K when you could just get a 6700K for only like 20 CAD more? Buying 3 year old CPUs isn't the smartest thing to do, even if it is a nice chip.

Here's what I'm planning for my new build. Would love any suggestions. The main priority for this build is silence and everything comes after.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Well, if you're insane about the silence, you could try water cooling your graphics card, or getting an AMP! extreme which has such a beefy over-engineered cooler I think it'll remain silent for most gaming sessions.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

it lookls like a solid build. cant think of a single complaint other than why not go for the 6700k? i mean it has new features that the haswell motherboards don't. if you want to go with the 4790k thats also fine too as the cpu will preform very similar to the 6700k

If I went with the 4790k I would go with ddr3 ram and when i was doing some research on it all I found this to be true. The DDR4 speed and cas combination is slower then DDR3 speed and cas. Like DDR4- 2400 cas 15 vs DDR3-1866 cas 10.

Can't you find ddr4 with different specs that do run faster?
