I bought an LG 34UC98 monitor in the middle of the summer as my old monitor had died and I just had to take advantage of the opportunity. All was well until I noticed last night upon opening Photoshop that I could see the contrasted areas of my wallpaper in a faint blue on my screen. This worried me as it is only the end of September now and I haven't had the monitor for long.

Here's the deal. I made this wallpaper that is light blue with some black lines and stuff. When I open Photoshop or another application that has a certain range of grey tones (Or an image with similar criteria to test with a certain non-transparent image), I am able to see those black lines still faintly. I tried switching the monitor inputs to another device to see whether this was an issue with my graphics card or not (It was happening on one of my two other older monitors as well, although I am not worried about that. To clarify it was happening on ONLY one of the two OTHER monitors and all three total are running off my 980), but I was not able to see anything remaining after my input had been switched. Brightness was turned down to see if that helped. No effect. During photo editing and making changes to the same image today, I realized that when moving the artboard (image) in Photoshop away from where it was before (leaving a grey background) I could see the image faintly still. I don't have to leave the image up for very long to see these effects. While writing this post, I guess I had the forum left up long enough to leave behind a faint image as well.

Doing some more research, I couldn't find many people with the same issues. And those that had the same thing happen to them had their issue unresolved.

I guess my question is this: What suggestions do you guys have for me as I am quite new to this? And if it is an issue with the panel, is it worth contacting LG about it?

I'm going to try to upload some images to demonstrate what I am seeing. The first will be of the original image, while the second of the image left behind (as close as I can get to capturing it). Please keep in mind that I have adjusted my camera settings to be able to see the image, and this might alter your perspective of the magnitude of the issue.

Sounds like burn-in. There are a few tricks to get rid of it. You can use PowerPoint with different shades of grey playing slowly over a few hours. There is also a tool online but I don't know what it's called.
