So I spotted that my PC is using allot more RAM than it should be, currently it is using 62 % of 16 GB. And yes I am using Google Chrome, but closing Chrome it only goes down to about 55 %. And by viewing through memory usage in task manager I can cearly see that something is not right, because the list of active programs does not equal to what it says it is using. I have also taken a little peek into the resource manager, but it dosen't show any difference.

So if there are anyone with the solution to this I would really appreciate it.

Either you have a virus or a memory leak, if you are using windows 10 memory leaks are often caused by the OS itself (check to see if system operations are using the memory to confirm or if system interrupts is constantly active in the taskmanager), as for virus checking malwarebytes free version is a decent option to check

If it's the OS the only option is reinstall if a virus you may be able to remove it to fix the issue assuming it doesn't corrupt something important

The way Windows calculates memory usage is weird. Working Set is the total amount of memory being used, but it includes the Private memory + Sharable. Sharable however may be counted multiple times since I've seen the Working Set take more space than the Commit.

Well anyway, tally up the Working Set.

How do you know it is too much? Depending on your usage (having many background applications for example) it might be reasonable.

My current RAM usage is at 20 GB, 10GB of that is ramdisk - and I am a power-user, with shittons of apps running in the background as well as Chrome.

System is only using about 0,1 MB, and I have started a Malwarebytes virus scan eventhough it's not that long ago I reinstalled Windows.

What shows up as using memory in resource monitor nothing or does it list some programs eating a large chunk (other programs can cause memory leaks as well just windows 10 has been having trouble with it recently...again)

Oh okay, well that makes more sense
