wait for the laptop to re refresh with the 10 series gpu?

They are already available and overheating. Pascal is a mess on laptops.

Hello everyone, I have been looking for gaming laptops for a couple months now that will last me some time, I have been looking at the y700 as a laptop to consider. This laptop is pretty good but it has a 960m with 4GB of VRAM, the problem is that i have been researching and people say that the 960m with 4GB of vram is not better, and that the hardware is not good enough; and you would have to get a 970m to get better performance. Is this true? Also the reason I choose the lenovo y700 is becuase it is very affordable, but if there is a another laptop thats good with simliar or better specs then the y700 for no more than 1300$ tell me. Another question is about SLI an If I where to get a laptop with SLI, I heard there are some games that will not run in SLI mode so does that mean it would not work, or it would just use one? Thank you!

The person who told you 4GB is bad is ignorant - 2GB is NOT enough for ANYTHING anymore - 3GB is also not enough - I have a 970M 3GB and that is hitting the VRAM limit whereas my 960M 4GB is just fine. Get the Y700 - it's a great machine for 1000$ or less.

What country?

A dell 7559 is 800usd with simmilar specs(960m, quad core)

Your not going to get a sli laptop with that budget, and even if you do there hot, have horrible battery life, and most weight over 8 pounds. But, laptop sli is just like desktop, so some games will only use one gpu and most will have ok scalikng.

Alright but would games run better or the same with 4GB of VRAM

IF you have more VRAM than needed there is no difference
IF you have less VRAM than needed - the game is unplayable
