So I have installed all my computer components and the computer works fine and stays cool when its on its side, but when I stand the case up the hyper 212 evo pulls away from the cpu on its top side like its tilting forward. Temps go up when this happens. I have tightened the screws to the point where they are starting to strip. What can I do?

Is the heatsink and fans facing towards the back of the case? I've never had this issue with the 212. The only way I could see this happening is if you have it oriented to be blowing to the top or bottom of the case.

Mother board is a x99a godlike gaming carbon (2011-3) and cpu is i7 6800k. Backplate was not needed according to directions.

X99 boards have built in back plates. .

OH Make sure you are using the correct standoff for x99
