Hello all,

First time on here, I watch a lot of Linus tech tips and videos love them!  I have a pretty weird problem with my PC, I think it may be related to Windows 10 update but I don't know.

My PC will not shut down, nor sleep AT ALL. When I click sleep the screen goes blank as normal and then nothing.  When I move the mouse it shows the login screen as it would if it just woke up.  Likewise if I click Shut Down it logs out, screen goes blank and then nothing until I move the mouse and the login page appears.  I have spent 30 mins on Google but it doesn't seem to have the answer.

The only way I can turn it off safely is by clicking Restart and literally shutting off the power supply when in POST.  It's almost like the CPU is not telling the PSU to shut off the power.  I believe this is a software issue since it has only started doing it, and I think during an update.  I would prefer to fix without trying to roll back updates or using system restore; unless I can re-install them easily.

To eliminate the possibility of an application conflict I have tried to sleep on a fresh boot without logging in and choosing Sleep in the login screen, but no!

I appreciate help.

Attached is the latest updates

If you did an upgrade from win7/8 then you may have some part of their code stuck in the system files, as I did, and the only fix I know of for that is wiping the drive and reinstalling windows 10. You could always try an admin command prompt and run  Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth  but it couldn't fix the issue for me so...good luck

Okay, I have fixed.

win10 gives the option to restore pc build, there were no options but I tried it, at the same time I reset bios settings.  One of them worked.

Thanks for all your help.
