RX 460 Driver Issues!

Go to solution Solved by Mr.Meerkat,

To add on top of what the 2 people have said above, download the drivers off AMD's website, not Gigabytes :D

Alright, so I recently bought an RX 460. To be specific I bought a GIGABYTE RX 460 Windforce 4GB edition. Since it's arrival I've had tons of issues installing the drivers for this card. My computer will crash about halfway through the actual install process with the SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION errcode: atikmday.sys. I first went to the manufacturers website and downloaded the Windows 10 64-bit. ( Link: http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5988#dl) When I finish downloading the file and open setup I get the AMD installer that asks me what I want to install. I have tried damn near every configuration of this installer with no luck. A lot of options on the installer cannot be bypassed such as AMD install Manager, and Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributes and obviously I need the main AMD Display driver for the card. I have tried just the display driver but my computer will still crash. I have tried using the actual display driver disk that came with the card, but my computer will still crash. Any help would be greatly appreciated I have sent a ticket to GIGABYTE explaining the issue, and it seems I'm on hold.

Could be a bad download. Try using DDU to clean the older drivers off completely in safe mode, then boot back into Windows and load the drivers from the disc. If that works, go ahead and update the drivers.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

First step, download Display Driver uninstaller and run it to uninstall all drivers on your computer.

Then make sure you've got the driver that's compatible with your OS, (32-bit or 64-bit)

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here
