GPU Suddenly Lost Display Output

The previous night my PC was working completely fine, and when I wake up my PC this morning (the displays were just off, the PC was not actually asleep) the main display didn't detect any input. I thought it was the cable loose (even though it's a DisplayPort cable) so I checked that, didn't work. I then did a hard reset since I couldn't see anything besides my secondary display, and then the second monitor stopped detecting any input (which is on DVI). I can start the PC and it'll show the UEFI splash and the startup procedure only on the second screen but then the display cuts off shortly after, leaving me with no video.

GO to the bios. See if it says it changed to onboard.

Try running a USB Linux. If it works you may have to reinstall your OS or at least check the cables for the boot drive.

I'll try that too, except the main display with DisplayPort I can't.

Nope, none of that worked. I'll have to reset my CMOS as well because I think I might've enabled Ultra Fast boot and now it doesn't display at all.

Okay clearing CMOS didn't work, disabling the iGPU didn't work, changing to UEFI booting didn't work.

 

I don't know what to do now

Can you load into Linux? If you're able to get an image, it may be the OS.

I was able to get into Windows by changing the card's BIOS to LN2 mode. It booted on the second monitor but the monitor using DisplayPort still doesn't want to show anything. So I have display on one, I'm probably going to DDU everything and reinstall the drivers.

You may want to fix the BIOS on your card as well.

I don't think it's the BIOS. I just hope my port isn't dead...

Does the first BIOS on your GPU work?

Dunno yet, I got everything displaying again on the LN2 BIOS.

 

I can confirm that it wasn't lightning or anything that killed my ports, as the dual link DVI is working fine that wasn't previously. I think my DisplayPort cable is in fact dead, however. But both monitors are working fine on DVI. I had to use DDU to reinstall the drivers.

 

I still need to do more testing to see if the DisplayPort cable is dead, if the port on my card is dead, or if the port on the monitor is dead. But either way DisplayPort isn't working. That means I have to use my stupidly short DVI cable since it's the only one I have that supports 144Hz
