Windows security alert pops up almost everytime I open chrome or spotify. It says: Windows firewall has blocked some features of this app. I always check the private network box and click allow access but it still keeps coming almost everytime I open chrome or spotify. I haven't noticed it popping up anywhere else than these two applications

I have windows 10 Home 64bit version 1607

When did this start happening? Any new software installed?

Can you please run a full scan with MalwareBytes AntiMalware and report back.

This is not a normal Windows behaviour.

I'm not sure exactly but not long. I don't think I've installed anything suspicious. Could it be the modem. I think this started happening after my internet just stopped working and I had to turn it off and on again

Well, that's not good. Can you please run "appwiz.cpl" from your Start > Run box?

Press WIN+R on your keyboard, type in "appwiz.cpl" without the quotes, and press Enter.

Provide screenshots of all of your installed programs. (you may need to scroll and take multiple screenshots.)

Yikees, that looks like my system! (In terms of the number of programs.)

There are a few that could definitely be causing the Firewall alerts, due to the nature of how they operate, of course:

  • TAP-Windows 9.9.2 (probably installed with OpenVPN/proxy software)
  • CCProxy
  • CyberGhost
  • TunnelBear VPN

They all are technically legitimate proxy/VPN applications, but they can be used to create outbound connections without your permission.

I suspect one of them is running and some of your Apps (like Chrome or Spotify) are trying to connect to the internet through them.

If you don't need them, you can try removing them to see if it stops Windows Firewall from asking you all the time.

Or try disabling them after closing Chrome/Spotify, then re-opening those applications.

Usually I clean client's computers by running the apps listed below, in the order listed:

  1. JRT (Junkware Removal Tool)
  2. ADWCleaner (Adware Cleaner)
  3. MBAM (MalwareBytes)

I guess that kinda worked but now there's something wrong with my internet I think. I made a new topic because I'm not sure that it's the same problem.
