Anyone want to link me a thermal compound? I know fuck all about them.

I was just going to buy this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0045JCFLY/ref=s9_simh_gw_g147_i1_r?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=7HBTY4MGHCQ1EGV3XWZ1&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=026d359a-cb34-4790-9249-ec9f152ee8e2&pf_rd_i=desktop because it has good reviews etc, and the compound that comes on the h100i v2 that I bought has loads of complaints.

Also, do i just wipe the current compound off with a piece of tissue, would that be okay?

Thanks!

I'm currently using the same thermal compound, it's great and pretty cheap. Just a really good value. You can take a look at this webpage to see how it performs against others: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/thermal-paste-performance-benchmark,3616-17.html
Using a piece of tissue is totally fine, I would also use a drop or two af alcohol, it's non-conductive and it evaporates almost immediately; it's just to wipe it off more easily.

the two "go to" thermal compounds on the market today are AS5 (arctic silver 5) and MX-4. either of those would be good in your machine. Linus also likes IC Diamond, but it is not really any better performing than these options and is a bit more expensive.

A lot of people use MX-4, some use AS5 like Zyndo said if they want a metallic base. I personally use Noctua's NT-H1; soooo easy to use, consistency is just right and performs really well.

Tissue works.

The h100i v2 comes with good preapplied paste. There's no need to replace it.
