that's part of engineering.. if you don't want hardcore calculus, shift to a non-engineering course

That much is obvious.

 

What I meant was that EE is notorious for having especially difficult applications of calculus, considering that you have to sometimes work with incredibly small scales. At those small scales, previously trivial values or principles become important. 

 

Of course, this all depends on the OP's preference and previous class selection.
