Hello LTT community! Need help building my first desktop What I would be using the desktop for? Gaming (Would like to play latest games on MAX settings) 3D Modelling and Animation A little more about myself: I'm a young 3D lover/enthusiast and an average gamer, I always wanted to make my own desktop but never really knew how since I have no experience whatsoever in making one. I design stuff with my current laptop (which i regret buying because i didn't know that i could get a desktop alot cheaper ) which is the MSI-GS70, after a year of buying this laptop I've had alot of problems with it so instead of buying a new laptop might as well build my first desktop! What's my budget and preference? Well by budget would be around AUD 3500-4000 (Doesn't matter if i get to 4000 but preferably not ) Budget for other accessories such as keyboard, headphones, etc around AUD 500 CPU: Always had Intel so i'm sticking with it Maybe an with an i7. Graphics Card: Was gonna go for GTX 1080 but then i would only be thinking about gaming I have no idea what's good for both Gaming and 3D Modelling. RAM: 32+ (For High Poly Projects) Motherboad: No clue on which motherboard i should buy. HDD & SSD: preferably 500 GB SSD for the OS then another SSD for games and maybe a 1 TB HDD for my model projects. Cooling: Whichever will help the desktops performance i guess Literally don't know anything about Liquid cooling and other types of cooling. Tower: Don't really have a preference, would only like the tower to have a really good airflow and if possible cheap. Other: Would ike the tower to have WiFi (so if i do end up bringing it to my friends or parents house) Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse: for the monitor looking for a widescreen with 144Hz and possibly 29" would be good as for the keyboard and Mouse i'll just grab them some other time since i'm in no rush I would just like to thank the people who'd be helping me out in advance!

Okay, so for the whole build including peripherals, your budget is $4500 AUD? Got it.

A hexacore CPU for those multithreaded applications, paired with fast RAM for CPU intensive tasks and games. For storage, I have paired the classic 850 EVO with a WD Black that has a 5 year warranty to back up its reputation of being a fast and reliable drive. A GTX 1080 for its horsepower, all packed in the Define S which is easy to build in and unbeatable for its price. This is all powered by the EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 which is a top notch PSU (the 650W model was practically the same price so why not 750W?).

As for peripherals, I don't believe there's a ultrawide that has a 144Hz refresh rate unfortunately. You could instead opt for a 27" 1440p IPS monitor with a 144Hz refresh rate and G-Sync.
