I've researched on and off for weeks and I realize that I couldn't learn about all pc component fast enough to make a purchasing decision.

My current build:
Xeon E31230@ 3.20Ghz

Intel stock cooler

MSI H67ma-e35

Kingston DDR3 4GB RAM X2

Samsung 850 EVO 120GB SSD

Western Digital 1TB HDD

MSI GeForce GTX 460

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy

Corsair Spec 02 case
Some China Brand powersupply unit that are 700W (Fishy)

My computer started to have issue few months ago. Sudden power off even not on load. Then I wasn't unable to detect my sound card. Then my window has trouble booting even after reformatting. Then my WD HDD became 'corrupted' on each power on needing drive repair, and most of the time would be undetectable (and when it is detectable, I can assess the data perfectly well).

All this lead me to believe that my motherboard is dying, and I would love to upgrade it:

Upgrade aim:
Gaming PC that are able to play AAA title on high setting in the future(after upgrading video card-- maybe next year)

Time to time photo editing

Have a USB type C port.

Plan:
I already figure out I am going to get Superflower 550W Silver to prevent my house from catching fire.
Going for CRYORIG M9I to cool my cpu a little better.

What I can't figure out is what I should get for a motherboard.

I would really want a motherboard with a usb type c port, but are reluctant to dish out more money to buy a motherboard that require me to change to DDR4.

Which motherboard should I get with a budget <150$ on motherboard?

Thanks alot guys!
I am changing the MoBo because I think it has spoiled. Intermittently unable to detect my HDD, unable to detect my sound card, and unable to boot up at times.

Now that dizmo reminds me that I could get a usb C expansion, it kinda change everything. Haha..

Thanks again.
