What argument are you talking about ? In my first reply I clearly stated that a 750W psu is enough for SLI (Or 550W for a single gpu). Bullshits reply doesn't have anything to do with what I posted. And as for being aggressive towards him the guy deserves everything he gets. He blatantly ignores any advice and tries his best to shout you down. I am on his ignore list now apparently so it doesn't really matter.

Why change the cooler then ? The BeQuiet looks nicer, and they are just as quiet. The only downside is the installation.

Crucial SSD's are fine. And don't take any notice of psu calc websites because they give out bullshit figures.

I changed it because I thought that cooler was too expensive. Other than that I see no reason for choosing something like the Phanteks that was recommended at some point.

am i hearing this right? you're calling an EVGA supernova G2 bad? FUCKING SERIOUSLY? its an excellent quality psu and is number 1 in the psu tier list. go do some actual fucking research before you come and spam your bullshit all over the forum. god help us all with you around. @STRMfrmXMN @quan289

We need someone to laugh at right ? xD The guy is clueless.

I was talking about this argument. But anyways lets drop it, there's no point in discussing it furthermore.

Well, Crucial it is then, he'll get an extra 25Gigs of storage too.

The Dark Rock Pro 3 overhangs all four memory slots as shown in

install9_small.jpginstalled1_small.jpg

from https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/beQuiet/Dark_Rock_Pro3. It will likely have issues with TridentZ memory modules. In standard configuration the cooler has about 35mm clearance for memory. In the Define S the outer cooler fan can be raised about 16mm which is more than enough to clear TridentZ 44mm tall modules. So it may be possible to mount memory in the slots under the fan. But I wouldn't count on it being optimal or even being workable as the pictures suggest the cooler fins may overhang the first two slots.

With a cooler like the Dark Rock Pro 3,  Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory  would be a better choice.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Again I wouldn't call 123 pounds "costs next to nothing". I do not know what Buzzsaw meant by his comment but he could very well mean "It's too expensive for this build so it's a bad choice" instead of "it's a bad power supply".

invalid argument. he has a budget of 1400 pounds, he should have an excellent psu for it, even if it costs a pretty penny. also, stop defending that turd, go read his posts and you'll know why we all hate him.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Yes I have met him in other posts, I get what you mean but I still think your reaction was over excessive. I'm not defending him, in fact I have corrected him in almost all cases I've seen him be wrong. However, I try to remain neutral on every different thread.
Regarding the "123 pounds PSU".  On the build I posted I got a great power supply from the same company and series.
The EVGA SuperNova G2 650 at only 80 pounds. So he still gets an excellent power supply, what he doesn't do is spend 40 pounds on 200Watts he will never use (unless he decides to SLI titan Xs or something).  Yes, it's not rated platinum+ but at that budget, it shouldn't be.  Even in your own recommendation changed the PSU to a Gold+ 750W one and allocated the extra money on a CPU.

sorry I haven't been on post for week. I keep forgetting to check :/

Anyway after reading all the comments

i really appreciate the feedback ive got.

I want to thank brob for pointing out the clearance with the cooler and ram.

The reason i went with the mx300 was because it was cheaper than 850 evo and with 25gb extra, the psu I understand the 650w g2 is perfect and was considering that bit with this 850w P2 (ik this sounds stupid, sorta) it should last me a hella long time  and about the overall eyecandy and 1070s and stuff well i do plan to watercool next year so i like nice things, and im on the fence with colour schemes as black silver and green maybe nice.

Z170 is more than adequate for my needs as it would be stupid to go for x99

especially because im trying to get into YouTube/Streaming so its pointless to invest into broadwell/haswell-e and it would reduce gaming performance.

Thanks for the help guys

DONT DISS G2 PSUS THEY ARE SOLID COMPARED TO CORSAIRS OVERPRICED SHIT

you won't be losing gaming performance by going with x99. http://www.anandtech.com/show/10337/the-intel-broadwell-e-review-core-i7-6950x-6900k-6850k-and-6800k-tested-up-to-10-cores/9 only 1 game tested had lower performance on the 6800k compared to the 6700k, and it was only a few fps. also, you get the ability to upgrade to a better cpu with x99 in the future while you'll have to upgrade your mobo and/or ram if you go 6700k instead.
