Hey all, I am working on a new build for gaming and streaming as well as video editing. I have my rough draft of my build I will link below.

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/v8yJyf

This is the first draft of the build, it is "Storm Trooper" themed, I am VERY open to other suggestions for parts or if anyone has advice on what I should change to be able to play games and stream from the same PC. I also have an Elgato Capture card I plan to use on consoles.

Thanks for the time to take a look at the build, Let me know about any changes, tips or info that can help my build work better. Keep in mind, I prefer white/black parts and Backlight/LED lighting to be blue (First build where the build theme is a factor, I am spending a decent amount of money and want it to look nice as well.)  Thanks Again!

Oh, I am trying to come in under 2k, but I am willing to spend a bit more if its warranted

Looks fine :D

You don't really need thermal paste as it's included with the CPU cooler and if anyone says the PSU is crap, they are very uneducated on PSUs ;)

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

Appreciate the input, While I am not a professional I do have quite a bit of experience building. I know a few of the periphrials aren't the best, (Keyboard for instance) I am not a hard core gamer and the membrane keyboard is fine for me, and the look is perfect for the theme.

I know its not the BEST power supply out there, but it should work just fine, still, open to suggestions for better options!

It's "good enough", it's not like a old CX that will blow up once it gets too warm (like first gen CX psus) although it's not something like a Seasonic prime :P

Aka, it's a solid PSU that is high enough quality to not worry about it.

thanks again, I wasn't worried about it at all, but if spending an extra $10-$20 means instead of "Good Enough" its "Just Right" That sounds good to me. Any suggestions?

Yes they are more like $25 more but the G2 is one of the best gold rated PSU (and in-fact is one of the best if you only consider PSUs sub-$100) with the GS being a nice upgrade over the capstone as well and same goes for the RMx ;)

I think I much prefer the 32gigs of ram to 16 also the ram I chose has a faster speed. Let me know if you have a reason for the change,

The case is actually nice and I do think i will switch that.

I prefer it to be water cooled, May I ask why you changed to three HDD?

Also, why the change in monitors? The refresh rate on the Asus tend to be better, and ASUS monitor is a staple in the fighting game community, which is a main focus of my gaming.

I will check them out, If i cut a few dollars in other places based on a few other suggestions, I can easily put that money into the power supply

Regarding the HDD, you originally picked out a single 3 TB HDD. That of by itself is fine, but what if that HDD goes bad? You have lost the entire 3 TB HDD. I picked 3 - 1 TB HDDs. So, if one of the 1 TB HDDs goes bad, you won't lose all 3 TB of data, but only lose 1 TB of data. I am a firm believer of not putting all of your "eggs" (data) in one basket... so to speak.

The LG monitors that I picked are IPS based, not the ones that you picked out. The fact that the LG monitors have IPS in it makes the gaming experience that much better. I have an identical one and it's great.

The be Quiet air based CPU cooler is highly rated and does keep that processor nice and cool under heavy load. Noctua air based CPU coolers are great as well.

the only reason i had 3tb drive was because it was a combo deal, I rarely even come close to that much data now and I plan to keep personal files in an external drive. I do agree with the one drive going bad and losing data to be bad, so I think I will go with two drives, the SSD for my boot/OS and main games and my second drive for storing video files and stuff temporarily. I do not download a lot of media and stuff, this computer is meant mainly for streaming media, gaming and broadcasting so beyond storing the  few games at a time I play, I am not too concerned about data loss, as mostly I just can download files again in a crisis.

As far as the monitors go, In my fighting games it all comes down to input delay, as graphics in many of these games are quite dated to begin with. I don't know much about IPS so I will be doing research on those, if the monitors are great, for the same price I will absolutely switch! From what I read, it has to do with improving viewing angles, which, in a triple monitor gaming setup I could see being very useful.

Still really like liquid cooling the system, but is there a reason those coolers might be a better choice for this rig? How about sound on the air cooled setup? Better or worse than the liquid cooler?

I also should add, I am very much concerned with airflow and cooling. This case looks great and has a lot of support for fans, but doesn't include many. I will buy a second 200m fan for the front intake and another fan for the angled drive cage fan, The rear exhaust and radiator on top should handle it well

update so far to changes ive made.

point of debate right now is GPU, I want the most bang for the buck, looking to spend about tree fiddy.

I have added 4 fans, 200m for front intake to go with the already included 200m fan, 2 120m fans for bottom intake (blue LED for added aesthetics) One blue led 120m fan to be mounted to the drive bay cage to direct air onto the GPU/Mobo. I also have the fan controller there, So i can dial in the most energy efficient fanspeeds for the target temperature.  This being a silent case I am not against adding a ton of wind to the build. I still prefer to have the CPU liquid cooled and the radiator to be mounted at the top of the case for exhaust.

I may or may not bite the bullet and get a second set of 32gig 3200 speed ram right off the bat to be at 64 gigs, I know I don't need it, but this is my first enthusiast build with a larger budget and I want to get something great!

You blew most of the budget on CPU & CPU cooling but did not focus on the main part that will push all those pixels, the GPU!!!

Lower your cost elsewhere and focus on getting a 1070 or 1080 instead.

If you still insist on getting a liquid based CPU cooler, the top case fans will probably be useless because it's going to be in the way of the radiator.

If you do get all of those case fans, then the air based CPU cooler will be more than enough to keep the processor cool due to all of the air flow going through.

Honestly, just stick with the air based CPU cooler and you're good to go.

Again, I will stick with my computer build that I suggested with the graphics card that I picked out. It's within your stated price range for the graphics card and it will do the job very nicely.

there is no top fans, they don't come with the case, the watercooler radiator fans would be in the spot of the top fans, otherwise, 2 on bottom, two on front, one on drive cage one in back of tower.

I also am using 4x16 ram and want to make sure the large block of the air cooler doesn't block out any slots, maybe not a concern, but I honestly like the liquid based cooler.  I wonder what reason you think i shouldn't use a liquid cooler and use an air cooler instead? For the same price, whats the negative to using the liquid cooler?

how does this look?

Why do you need 64GB Ram ?

Are you planning to game across all 3 monitors ?

I would suggest the Phanteks Enthoo Pro for the case.
