PC Build opinion

Hy guys and gals out there,

 

Apologies if i don't set this out right or is posted in the wrong area (1st time poster)

 

I have a budget of around $1500 and I'd like some opinions on a PC I'm going to be building in the near future. The primary use is for gaming but nothing super hardcore (e.g. wow, overwatch, witcher etc)

 

Below are the components I'm looking at getting:

MOBO	MSI Z170A GAMING PRO CARBON
CPU	Intel i5 6600k
GFX	MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING X - 8GB GDDR
RAM	Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4-2666 DC - 16GB
Case	NZXT Noctis 450 Black
PSU	Corsair Vengeance Series 650M - 650 Watt
Cooler	Cryorig H7
SSD	Samsung 850 Evo 240 gig

 

Screen will come later as I will be using my gf's spare monitor for a while and i already have the necessary peripherals and extra HDD to store all my other stuff

 

I've done a decent amount of research but would like to hear the opinions of the community out there.

Looks like a decent setup to me, once you have built let me know how you found the Noctis 450 as I am thinking of getting that case in future....

I see nothing that looks like a disaster but you should check the PSU with the PSU tier list to make sure it is not a fire-hazard!

O_o wooo, not scary at all to hear that. . .hehe thanks for the fast reply. Have you heard "bad things" about this PSU or is it more of a "hy just have a look in case" kinda situation?

go with a EVGA Powersupply = Cooler & More Quiet (in my opinion)

Not heard anything about that model, which is why I advice you to look it up!

I agree Madjack, I'd recommend the evga gs or g2 power supplies. They are really good. Just stay away from the g1.

 

I have the gs in mine and my wife's pc, they work absolutely great.

Power supply is fine. JonnyGuru gave it 9.8 out of 10 so you know it's quite good.

 

Build looks fine in general.

The Corsair Vengeance PSU is a pretty decent PSU. Don't worry.

 

The EVGA G2 PSUs are top-notch if you actually want to use one, but they definitely aren't as cheap.

PSU is all good. Corsair is a decent brand, voltage regulation and ripple is amazing, and the wattage is quite more than your system need in maximum load. So, you're good!

Looks solid, the only thing you can cut down is from the case, but if that's the aesthetics that you're looking for then go for it.

Assuming it is the VS series , it isn't a very good one.

i do quite like the  aesthetics of this case and the filters is what drew me towards it. i did some looking around and not that many cases (that i could find at least) had filters

its the  Corsair Vengeance Series 650M - 650 Watt  so I'm assuming that's what you mean by VS series. . . what's wrong with it?

I don't know JonnyGuru but he gave it a pretty decent review

The gs is usually about 20 cheaper, but yeah, if johnny guru gave the vengeance series 9.8 out of 10 then it's a damn good power supply.

 

He's a reviewer that focuses on power supplies and he goes in to great detail and is the authority on psus.
