So is it better thenecc?

what? no.

ECC RAM. Error correcting RAM. It corrects errors to prevent downtime, used in servers.

RAM. Regular RAM , with no special features. Cannot self-correct errors, meaning its less stable. Pretty much if it isn't a server, its using regular RAM.

Look in my signature, my gaming uses regular RAM. My server however uses ECC RAM. Please note that my gaming PC could not support ECC RAM even if I put it in, the motherboard needs to support it specifically.

uhh... RAM that doesn't error correct? which is pretty much 95% of the RAM people are using.

Gaming - Ryzen 9800X3D | 64GB 6400mhz cl30 9070 XT

Homelab - many servers...constantly changing.

3970X/256GB - 5950X/128GB ECC - 5600G/96GB - 3400GE/16GB - 3400GE/16GB

IIRC for older gens the CPU needs to support it to...

umh .. no! don't confuse him; he's already confused

non-ECC RAM isn't less stable than ECC RAM - in the eventuality the memory gets corrupted, ECC RAM can self correct, non-ECC RAM won't
