New gpu purchase

I will have around £350 to spend on a GPU

I am going to sell my msi gtx 970 for around £150+ 

 

What gpu should I get? 

 

My choices are 980ti, rx 480, 1060

 

I could get a 1070 if my dad gives me an extra £50-100 (Could be unlikely) 

 

Or I could say fuck it and SLI my rig?

I would also go for the 1070. It's the fastest has the most VRAM and you can SLI it later down the road unlike the 1060 which cannot be SLI-ed.

To make sure I understand, after selling the 970 you'll have £350? I recently picked up a new 980Ti for £300 to try SLI with my existing one, but it is worth considering stretching for the 1070. I have the Zotac 1070 FE which was £380 when I got it, so really is isn't much more than an on sale 980Ti. Of course, if you don't want the blower then prices can start to go up... depending on which benchmark you look at and/or how much you overclock either, the wins can go either way, but the 1070 has the advantage on newer features once they start getting used, as well as lower power consumption.

 

I wouldn't bother with SLI for regular use and would always seek the most powerful single card that can work.

Consider the fact that 980 ti requires a beefier PSU and needs 250W of power. The 1070 needs only 140W. It also has 2GB more VRAM.
