CPU usage worries.

I have a i5 6600k and when im playing games it spikes to about 90% load! It idles at about 40%. Is that okay?

At 90% its about 50 degrees c. What is wrong with it?

Can you take a screenshot of Task Manager when idling? What process is taking up the most CPU?

 

For reference, my 4690K reports 4% usage with Steam, MSI Afterburner and three Chrome tabs open.

Idle should be 0-3%. Something is using your CPU.

You need to sort the processes by CPU usage to have the culprits at the top. They are not visible in that screenshot.

That's pretty high for idling. What software do you have installed that run on startup?

Look for Microsoft Skype in bg processes. I've noticed that from time to time, it uses a lot of cpu. Can't say the same for Spotify since I don't use it.
