Unless the drive is being accessed while playing, and the hard drive was holding the system back, no. You will only get improved load times as mentioned above me by @SamStrecker.

You can gain fps with a ssd in some games that are heavy on accessing the drive mid-game for things like large textures.

Borderlands 2 probably won't see any benefit outside of load times though.

SSD only reduces loading times/screens. It does not improve FPS. Put your OS on your SSD
