Stable overclock for 6600k with Hyper Evo 212.

Yeah, I have a Hyper 212+ and a 2500K at 4.6GHz (1.39v) and the temps are below 70C...that being said though, the newer chips are harder to cool.

It will overclock fine. Remember you don't actually need sub 60C temps, people just feel more comfortable when it is. It makes no difference to your cpu. You can run it at 90C and nothing will happen. It will not decrease the life of CPU in any noticeable way, if at all.

 

CPU dies are made of silicon and copper, which both have melting points over 1500 degrees Celcuis. This is why intel can literally solder IHS directly onto the die without heat damage. What we actually worry about is the solder joints within the cpu melting, and solder melts as low as 150C. But if it isn't melting no damage is occurring.
