700$ VR build

Snakkey

I think a 3GB 1060 won't be enough for VR. Eschew the CPU cooler and get a 6GB 1060

Also the CX450M is basically the same as the CX550M, they have the same number of connectors.

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Computer having a hard time powering on? Troubleshoot it with this guide. (Currently looking for suggestions to update it into the context of <current year> and make it its own thread)

+Trion 150 SSDs have a pretty bad endurance rating, get something better for the same price.

Definitely get a 6gb 1060. I don't know about other variants but I know my brothers strix 1060 has a specific hdmi port for VR.

I have already have an old hard drive that i will reuse so don't worry about storage. What do you think of this super budget build?

DId you win a vive in a giveaway or something? budget and VR don't really go together, also get a 4gb 470 or 480 instead

Also that's not a very good PSU overall, and you don't really need the cooler, also the MSI VD boards are probably best in class

For VR (Vive), I've found that VRAM is more important than processing speed. Most of the VR games I've played used between 3-5GB at Ultra 1080.
