Go with win10, Just keep in mind if your system is off the shelf (doubt it) you might have issues, I had an acer that had constant "video-tdr-failure" blue screens, but it is great for modern off shelf ps's and custom builds.

Ryzen 5 5600X - MSI B550 Mag Tomahawk - Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL 3200 (4x8) - EVGA RTX2060 XC Gaming 12gig - Crucial P2 250gb nvme ssd (OS) - WD Blue 1tb sata hdd (general storage) - Seagate Barracuda 4tb sata hdd (games) - iBuypower Element Reflect

Is the windows 10 bug free now? In my laptop i upgraded from 8.1 to 10 and it encountered some bugs but then again people say that from upgrading bugs tend to appear but from fresh install it is more likely less to be encountered. Is that true?

Windows 10 of course. You wouldn't want to stick with an ancient OS.

Oh i see. As for my what i have previously replied to @KSores is it now "Bug free" or something along those lines.

There is no such thing as bug-free software. That given, a clean install of Win10 will be more stable than overwriting an existing OS. However, many of the issues from early versions have been ironed out and resolved. There's still some occasional wonkiness, but nothing too major.

It's pretty much bug free (no major issues) at this point. I've only had issues with Windows Update not updating to the Anniversary edition properly and nothing else.

Oh i see. So by doing some fresh install i would likely to encounter less bugs than doing an upgrade. Well i can see that it's true cause on my laptop i upgraded from 8.1 to 10 and i've encountered some bugs that made me frustrated hahaha.

It depends upon what you mean by "bug free" as the Anniversary Update is a bag of hurt, they yanked PowerShell out in the name of security which created serious issues with devices/software which still used those functions, webcams which relied on driver level video compression vs Windows 10 uncompressed video and the screwy bug which makes any PC BSOD when plugging in a Amazon Kindle is just awful QA. There are other bugs Insiders have complained that have either went unfixed or only half-fixed in the Anniversary Update.

Depending upon your "environment" for games Windows 10 is a must for DirectX 12 but for serious work you *might* be stuck using Windows 7 because of the incompetence of clowns at Redmond.

I had to clear my SSD of my OS because it pinned my CPU and SSD at 100% usage. I tried to downgrade to windows 8.1, but it was so taxing on my components, that when I tried to select it, the downgrade just restarted my computer back to the windows 10 lock screen. I was forced to clear it and take off files so freaking slowly for 2 days. (This was in July/August)

As of now the reason i want to format my pc is that i think somethings messing with the software of my pc cause most of the time cpu usage is going over 50% even at idle and when i'm gaming it's around 70% and higher and my gpu usage would be somewhat lower than it causing stuttering in my games even tho my gpu can run it with ease.

I just don't trust Windows 10 right now, ill probably wait until the newer version of Microsoft's new OS will come out in a few years.

Desktop and both my laptops are on 10, laptop since the upgrade was first available. Haven't had any bugs or issues, laptop was upgraded, desktop I did a clean install.

The os is easily better than 7, faster less hang up and I haven't had any problems with software more than a few years old.

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

Thanks for your insight man. I'll just go with the windows 10 since many people has said it's okay now and i'm gonna need it sooner or later cause i'm planning on getting new AAA games in the future and it might need dx12 and vulkan support so i ain't got no choice it's better to get it now and reformat again later.

A lot of the issues people have are around 'spying' I don't use cortana as it's kinda crap in Oz, and alot of the advertising 'features' can be turned off. In the end it is a really solid os, and since microsoft is supposedly moving away from major os releases, to these big yearly updates there isn't much point sticking with much older software, 7 is only getting security updates now as well.

Microsoft collects data based on how you use your PC "to better personalize the experience," that's the short version.

Nothing more or less than your andriod or ios phone doe or gmail. Data mines for advertising, maybe some drm stuff built in which isn't imo any way obtrusive (dont steal software and its fine)

Other 'spying' is just allowing permissions to cloud store data for user and live accounts so it can be accessed across devices.
