I have been recently been watching alot of competitive gaming recently and Ive been seeing that it's a sort of "underground crowd" (By underground I mean really only looked at by other gamers) unlike hockey or soccer that a majority of people have heard of. The general public has no idea on how much goes on.

So I have decided to make a documentary that will try to explain why esports should have more coverage in media and news. I have always wanted to do a documentary on video games I just have not had any direction. So please be on the look out for any more updates on this project.

Also I would love to hear feed back or get ideas from any member.

I don't understand what you mean.

And about eSports... keep in the low because I don't want it to turn into NFL #2 in terms of practices.

There's a very simple reason why eSports doesn't have any coverage in the mainstream media, and that is that mainstream people don't care or for that matter understand it. To most people eSports is not interesting in any way, nor is it actually considered a sport it is "Just people playing computer". I myself have tried very hard to make some people understand that it's more than that but without luck. With this in mind I see no real reason to expand it beyond twitch, as the vast majority of us gamers don't use the mainstream media anyways. It's a sad reality but true none the less.

This is true but its one of the things I'll be trying to break. With esports It feels like you need to have some prior knowlage of the game but with stuff like counter strike they have implamented a very simple and easy for spectators to know whats going on. I know its not there yet but its becoming a "bar sport"

(A bar sport is something you can watch with no sound and know within 60 seconds what team is winning and what is going on)

The problem is that people don't care. The people you're trying to affect would much rather watch soccer or hockey. They're quite simply not interested.

Well that a point I would have to adress in the film then. I can make the point of why do we watch hockey or soccer. We have no real connection asides from pride of our favorite team winning a game
