my dell insprion 7559 has developed somehting i cant solve. after its gone to sleep when the lids shut and i open it again, the mouse curser moves at half the speed and 2 finger scrolling and other guestures dont work unless i restart.

ive downloaded the latest drivers, rolled back the drivers, completely removed the drivers and even experimented with drivers from different models.. which all work.. until it goes to sleep... ive even formatted to eliminate a software conflict...

i know the trackpad never got rave reviews and it was one of linus's gripes.. but still ...

is there a windows feature im missing??

My HP Envy 17's trackpad did something similar, even after a completely new Windows install. My friend's Dell laptop has the same issues.

Trackpads, unfortunately, just go bad after a while. It'd be a good idea to invest in a mouse.

I won't know you're talking to me unless you reply/quote me.

umm 7 months old. and no i havent. its not a hardware issue as a restart cures it. its only after its been to sleep. i can fully recreate the effect every time.

lol but that completely removes one the most useful features of a laptop with a decent battery! i can carry it around all day and just open it to use it with minimal battery drain.

admittedly it boots in about 7 seconds with my m.2 SSD but its not the point lol. i dont do compromise! i like things to work!

whats weird is i have a 4 yr old laptop that i dropped once so hard that the hard drive had to be replaced and other than that, it's had no issues. With such a high quality gaming laptop like urs, you expect better quality
