Weird port on motherboard for password?

Go to solution Solved by zMeul,

that's the BIOS password reset jumper

Hi all,

When looking at my motherboard I say this little blue thing that is plugged into a slot that saids as you can see PSWD also known for password, does anyone have this on their motherboard if yes, what does it do. What happens if I remove the blue thing, would I never be able to store passwords on my PC again or? Thanks in advanced!

Isn't that just a jumper with a handy handle on it?  (That's BRILLIANT, why weren't more jumpers like that!?)  My guess would be that pulling the jumper resets the CMOS password.  You should consult the manual though.

It's a jumper which means you can use it to connect 2 pins if you do this then your bios password will reset
