Best H170 Mini ITX motherboard?

RRGT19

Hi,

Which is the best H170 Mini ITX motherboard available right now?.

I can only find this two:

  1. Gigabyte GA-H170N-WIFI  $113.99
  2. MSI H170I Pro AC  $119.99

Any other option?....

I need a good motherboard for an i7-6700 non-K for my brother.

Thanks.

Threw some H110 boards in there too since they'll work just as well

You have options. Since you're not overclocking get whatever is cheap and not trash

What about the Asus B150i?, I like the design of them. Looks racing with that red on it.

But, I don't know anything about that chipset.

Looks fine, bit pricy for not Z170 but go for it

Chipsets don't mean much to me in non-overclocking situations. I changed the filter to just LGA 1151 which is all you need to choose from. If you find a good deal on a Z170 board, you might as well since it'll resell better.

I have read that non-H170 motherboards have less PCI lanes which is bad for the performance of the GPU's.

Is that true?, I have a GTX1070..

I mean, yes, but not really relevant here. As long as you have a PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot (which the ASRock H110M-ITX, the cheapest board on the list, had) you're fine. PCI lanes don't mean much in a single-gpu mini-itx scenario.

The B150i one only has 8 pci lanes.

I will go for the H170 to be save...

I don't want to regret and get poor performance because of this.

One thing, the gigabyte h170 has a 6 pin CPU at the top, while my PSU has two 8-pin CPU, what can I do?, I can not split the cables, some power supply comes with that feature, but not main.

Honestly do what you want but the PCI lanes thing is irrelevant here

Then get a different board?

damn, I need a board with a 8-pin CPU connector.

:(

let me look at them again.... the only one I see with that option is the B150i from Asus at $124.99

You could probably use a 4 pin CPU header and be fine

I don't have one.

Most 8 pin CPU connectors can break off into two 4 pins, I'd be surprised if yours couldn't. What PSU do you have?

"

1 x 24-Pin ATX EPS (CPU)
1 x 8-Pin (4+4) + 8-Pin PCIE
4 x 8-Pin (6+2)
8 x SATA
4 x FourPin Peripheral
1 x Floppy "

8-Pin (4+4) means your 8 pin CPU can split into two 4 pins :)

It has the same # of PCI-E connectors to the CPU but non connected to the chipset. It doesn't really matter anyways, since a ITX board only has 1 slot anyways. Your graphics card will still run at x16 speeds.
