Hey guys so here's the issue, I'm looking to buy a new card soon. And here's my thoughts, the rx480 is an amd card and my monitor supports free sync so that would be an advantage, but I'm looking into getting into YouTube and I really like the shadow play software (currently rocking the gtx750ti). So I'd like to know your thoughts and recommendation, any help would be appreciated, tnx

If you have Free-sync then the 480 is the clear choice. Just use OBS

well..

- when recording you cant use freesync, because it'll basicly screw up the output of the recording and make it tearfest.

- shadowplay isnt ideal for making recordings, there's much better ways of doing things which you could potentially look into.

no, you spend 50 bucks because the card is also faster ;)

Depends - if he means the 3GB 1060, then it's actually slower

i dont consider that a 1060.

maybe we should consider doing a community effort like we do with the titan XP and call it the 1060pleb.

AMD has a counterpart to Shadowplay called VCE which also uses the GPU to encode. Quality might be a bit worst but not enough to justify it over Freesync since you already have that monitor.

You really should just go for the 480 it's an ideal case for you.

depends

You can't ramp up your settings as high if you want prettier graphics with such low VRAM. 3GB is practically unacceptable for mid-range setups IMO.
