If it's rated to output the same volts and amps as the other one, then I don't see an issue. However, I'm not 100% sure about charging it up again. Also you're unlikely to find a battery that fits inside a phone and has the same connector.

charging is potentially going to be an issue. (remember that 3rd pin on nokia batteries back when phones still had removable batteries you could buy replacements for? that's a sense contact so the phone knows what the hell kind of battery is in it)

 

the main issue is physically fitting the battery into the device, charging is something you'll notice after the fact.

shape, size and connector will be the biggest issue. get an external battery case if they make one.
