Just curious, is this still a thing for individuals ? I know BitCoin is out of the question due to its high value, but are there any smaller popular ones worht even trying ?

ETH was worth mining 4 months ago but now you'll find it kinda difficult to get much out of it as difficulty is rising so god damn quick...from 39TH to 72TH over 6 months-ish (well it was like the last 3 months, from 43TH per block or something to 72TH as more people join the bandwagon)...(aka, I'm mining basically half of what I used to ;-;), from 5 days or something around that per block (5 ETH) to more than a week...plus ETH prices are kinda falling which doesn't help (from $13-15 per ETH to $10-12).

 

P.s. the reason I have 10 7950s rather than 290Xs or something is because they were so fcking cheep...found someone who was selling 6 of his ex-mining 7950s for 35 quid a pop...back then, that was 20 days of mining and I got my investment back.

not that I know of :P (I'm not a hardcore miner..although I've got 10 7950s for mining...)
