So... my internet sucks... My dad got windstream as it was the only thing available to us at the time... It is a 3 download and 0.7 upload plan. How can I make this faster without upgrading the plan? I saw someone upgrade there modem, but windstream tells us not to. 

 

This has nothing to do with speed, but windstream has been going out in our area so much, Ex. one day it went out for 5 hours for everyone in our town who has windstream. We already reported it to the fcc. Also here is a little joke my friends and I have about our ping while playing cs:go. whenever someone else is on the internet, my ping GOES OVER NINE THOUSAND!!! (Not actually 9000, but definitely around 500.

the internet from the ISP is the fastest it will ever get. You cannot exceed those speeds.

Yeah I have similar internet. No matter what router or modem you get you will still have the same speeds.

Having slow internet speeds is a bummer, in my area we don't get very fast connections either. The best thing you can do to try and maximize the full potential of your current connection is to run Ethernet cables to all your most used internet active devices, PC,TV, Console..etc. It will suck but should help a little. Good luck!

my router is downstairs and my room is upstairs. I can't do that I would need a 100 foot cable and some way to hide it.
