Quick Question - ECC Support

Just wondering if this board supports ECC memory, it's an Asus Z97 WS

Nope. Only the c232 and 236 chipsets support ecc.

Nope..... C226 chipset also supports ECC memory............

oops wrong chipset, but the desktop chipsets don't support ecc, you need the server chips.

C232 and C236 are for the LGA 1151 socket. For OP, C222, C224 and C226 are the chipsets supporting ECC (assuming LGA 1150 from the Z97 chipset)

ECC has to be supported by the CPU and chipset. In this case, no it doesn't support ECC.

 

Chipsets that support ECC are mostly X and C boards. But check to make sure.
