Sorry I new I recently made a post about it but this will be my final one as I am getting it in the next few days .

My budget is 900 pound ( no ssd needed check sig) no monitor or monitor or OS or mouse . Main games will be battlefield 4 and 3 watch dogs ( when it comes out I heard it has been delayed which is a bummer) general use.

I was thinking of going for a i7 4770k as I won't be looking to upgrade this PC (CPU at least for 3-4 years ) and since the hyper threading has seen to make a difference in bf4 shows that more games will utilise its 8threads . Thanks guys

Edit : decided the fx 8350 will be better :)

Here is my suggestion, I'd wait with the GPU to see if you can afford the R9 290, it should be 5% faster than GTX780 for 400 pounds:

well. BF4 is AMD Optimazed why not look at a AMD Fx8350?

but 4770k will be a good choice to but for 900 pounds a 4770k build is possible but the other stuff need to be weaker becuze of the CPUs price. i would recommend a fx8350 build for that amount of money.

and fx8350 is great to for a 2-3-4 another years specially if u OC the hell out of it to 5 ghz...

but its your choice:)

If you can't afford it get the 280X and maybe bump up to FX8350? Thing overclocks like a beast, you may want to get a Dark Rock Pro 2 or AiO as well if you want to use it at it's full potential above 4.5Ghz. Otherwise get the FX8320 and the Dark Rock 2, no point in getting higher binned CPU if you aren't into OC that much.

The i7 and it's hyperthreading ability is not something game developers are looking at. It's not made for games to run better. If you are really worried about the future with the amount off cores, then you should go AMD. Such as this build.

If you really want intel, and I personally like this alot more just simply based on the fact that intel their boards are alot more awesome.

Edit: I assumed you are an AMD fan so I tried to go with a red color scheme, if you don't like that - blue/green are 2 simple options. Other color's are a little more tough.

I just don't really like the amd 990fx boards compared to the z87 in my price range and will PCI 2.0 reduce cf capabilities ?

I agree on that fact that you prefer the Z87 boards over the 990fx. I personally am on the same boat. But the AMD FX8350 has 8 cores. Wich the intel one does not, and won't ever have. Hypertreading won't help with that. In some games the i5 beats the i7 in other games it's the other way around. But it's only by a margin off a few frames. Wich you won't really notice. And no PCI-E 2.0 is fine for CF. Even the R9-290x if I remember correctly.

why that fancy ram?

Pure asthethics. (yeey spelling) I was able to fit it into the budget. I suppose you could go with the Mushkin blackline and maybe try to fit in an H100i, but I doub't he will OC that high (over 4,5) to need that. The AMD card get's insanely hot so having the H100i there is sort off a something you want.

So would you say to go for the amd fx8350 over the i7 , but even though I then have more money to spend on the gpu there is a big jump between the 7970 and the next best gpu ?

Basicly the next up in GPU is the GTX780 or R9-290x. The 280x and 7970 are very close together.

Nobody really knows what the future will hold up. But the hints are indeed going towards more then 4 cores. Since the new consoles are with 8 cores. (not sure if games take advantage off it yet!)

I mean, even if you don't have 8 cores, the games will still run fine - depending on your other hardware. My system (in sig) runs BF4 at high settings (not ultra) in 1080p around 50 frames. And only slightly OC'd the GPU. No OC on CPU atm. (even when running 2 other games, listening to the wan show + other music and streaming it. I still keep it about 40 frames)

So, it all really depends how the games will be made, and frankly not a whole lot off people know.

For the saved money, I would suggest to grab a sound card or a DAC. Because the AMD boards don't have that awesome sound quality that Z87 boards do have, this will be something nice if you like a nice quality sound.

The Asus or Sapphire Toxic are the 2 'winning' cards in the 280x line as far as reviews go. I personally always lean more towards Asus, because well - they make good stuff. But the Sapphire card isn't bad either! Up to you.

Yeah, can't really say much against that. Aside from the fact. You don't really see much off that card. Once it's build into the rig. But still, a nice card! :)

750W is a little close, once you start to OC the CPU and put 2 OC'd GPUs with them, it will be pretty close. I would grab a Seagate drive, they are more quiet. I don't know why you picked that motherboard, to match the case or something?

I would still say grab the UD3 board and the fractal case. I don't know how well zalman makes their cases, but.. well it's personal prefernce I suppose. Make sure you buy aftermarket fans, stock fans are horrible - as I suggested the Cooler Master Sickleflows are awesome for their price. Honestly, it's amazing.

Yeh the case I'm not sure on which one to go for yet , plus I'm going for a blue colour scheme ( even tho the asus is read and black it only has a little red )
