high end gpu for 5760x1080

Hi I am thinking of upgrading my gpu, my current gpu is a hd 5870 so I'm wondering what i should upgrade to. I'm planing to go triple 1080p monitors very soon my budget is decently high for the gpu, I can spend about $320us. I play fairly demanding games like dirt rally and project cars so it needs to handle those games on at least high settings. i cant do sli either. Will my i3 2100 bottleneck the card as well? Thanks for any help you can give

I don't know if you can get a used GTX 980/ti for that.

And that 2100 is a bottleneck for a high end card that you need.

Not going to work. You need at least a 980 Ti to run a setup like that, and more preferably a 1080. And yes, that CPU will bottleneck any of those cards.

I thought with the new Nividia stuff it makes these things easier, taking less computing power to copy data. 

 

But yeah that cpu will bottleneck a lot of cards

Not possible at your budget. As others stated above, you need at least a 980ti/1070 to do this (A 1080 is much better for this though), good luck finding one for less than about ~$400 used. They will be bottlenecked by you i3 badly.

X70 is what I'd say is minimum for triples. And your CPU shouldn't bottleneck in too many games since you're only increasing the resolution and not the frame-rate.

Also welcome to the Triple Monitor Club! I'd say get a 2500 non-K IF you start getting issues.

would a gtx 970 or 980 be fine, i'm fine with lowering water and shadows to increase frame rate

I'd get a 1060 6GB since it does as well as the 970. 980 would be better but the resolution likes using nearly 4GB of VRAM.

The Radeon RX 480 may be a good bet. If the games you're playing aren't completely maxing out your cpu, it's likely they won't with the new card either.

The 780Ti is too old, the OP will be missing on a variety of new nVidia features. My suggestion, GTX 1060 6GB as an absolute minimum, better yet a GTX 1070, if you can save up for a bit more. The GTX 970 and GTX 980 are decent cards, true, but their frame buffer is just not going to be enough for a triple monitor setup with cranked up settings.
