I am going on a total limb here and have what is most likely an incorrect conspiracy. Nvidia with their recent partnership with ubisoft is asking them to delay the game because of their entire tire 0 thing because AMD's never settle road map was leaked showing watch dogs and the release of their new gpu's would mean people could buy an AMD gpu to get Watch Dogs with their never settle codes. So nvidia delayed the game's release so they can use it as a launch title with their upcoming maxwell gpu.

Great that they released it later in order to optimize their game to run better on systems instead of giving users a bad experience with it.

much better than them releasing a game that's not ready and full of bugs, it just ruins the experience because I think first impressions basically decide if you play the game or not
