Watchdogs & The Crew delayed until April 2014

Ubisoft has said both titles will be delayed until 2014 to allow them to polish them properly.

Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming. It is with this in mind that we’ve made the tough decision to delay the release until spring 2014.

We know a lot of you are probably wondering: Why now? We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality. As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune each detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.

update: Retailers like amazon and gamestop have it listed for a june 30th (my bday :DD) release, although this is most likely a place holder i thought it was worth mentioning

Awwww I was looking forward to WD but now I will have to wait. I don't mind so much, if they want to improve the game thats OK but next time don't set your release dates so optimisticly!

Sad news guys, the very anticipated game, Watch Dogs from Ubisotf, won't be hitting our xmas trees. 

Santa will have to be more creative to replace our wish list item.

 

The game will be delayed until Spring 2014. Initially the game was supposed to be released in November of this year.

No information on what will happen with those who placed pre-orders.

 

Ubisoft is saying the following:

I'm actually very happy about this, almost any game that's been delayed comes out substantially better, Borderlands 2 & Far Cry 3 come to mind.
Both turned out lovely.

I would much prefer if they delay the game to be polished rather than release it prematurely and have it plagued with all sorts of issues.

Never paid attention to when it was coming out, its out when its out... and when it IS out it will cost £50 and then a week later it will be £40 and then a week later it'll be on a steam sale for £20 and THEN ill buy it.
I think I can wait 2 weeks for 60% off, so long as it doesnt look like gta5 on the 360...then again this is pc.

I think that this is a good idea. I'd rather have a more polished game and it takes longer to come out; than a rushed game and it plays horrible. Good move!

There Ubisoft is again, breaking all of my hopes and dreams.

Guess I'll contact the shop i pre-ordered at to ask what happens.

I will not cancel if possible, just let the order run until is does get released.

i didnt even think about that, they will probably just get the console without the game and then the game free once its released
