or this one...

----------------

I don't have time to build one, or I would. I need something asap, not explaining why.

Mainly gaming PC.

---------------

What I am thinking...

The first one has the better processor, comes with an SSD, but only has a 960 2gb in it. (I'd plan on upgrading it to the GTX 1060 later, if I feel i need more power.) but that would be hopefully the only upgrade I need for a while. (unsure what the power supply is, i'll decide on that when i see it. it might be an automatic deal breaker when i see it.)

The second one has a regular case design, a 600w power supply, and a 970 4gb(3.5gb) in it. But the processor is an i5-6600, and there is no ssd. So upgrade wise, id need an SSD, and eventually a new GPU anyway. since the 1060 is better than the 970 by a little bit anyway.

So maybe I'd have better "futureproofing" out of the first one?

Thanks!, those are much better.

But my friend was impulse buying and he was looking for a local store to buy something from. His first computer.

I didn't have time to explain before, because ... well we already bought one. :D

We went with the Second Choice.

---------------

At first he bought an iBuyPower machine for $929+tax

i5-6402p - 2.8ghz base w/3.4ghz turbo

8GB Ram

1TB HDD + 120GB SSD

GTX 960 4GB

He also bought some Dell monitor with it for $179+tax

23"

1920 x 1080p

6ms Response Time

60hz

When he told me, I told him to immediately return it, and that I found something better for the same price...

So we went with option 2 there, and we also got him an Asus VP247H-P 24" monitor for $125+tax

23.6"

1920 x 1080

1ms Response time

60hz

---------------------

Overall, I just wanted to help with a slightly educated impulse buy.

Obviously there's better stuff out there, but I hope everything serves him well now.

Well at least you got some insight from us first. Hope he likes it and does not regret the purchase!
