You can get much more performance out of this which is very close in terms of cost.

If you are to spend alot of money on a powerful system, i'd highly recommend grabbing a more quality PSU. The CX series aren't "bad", but it's cheaping out going with one.

I didnt put the build together. Borrowed it from a respected youtuber from his latest build he did that i linked. That PSU will be fine though.

I know, but I disagree with that choice.

The power supply is fine. People need to stop the 'Corsair CXs are bad' circlejerk.

Here's a post of mine that explains it:

'There's bound to be some hesitation and misconceptions about these series of PSUs so let me clear this up. This is based on a different platform from the old, green Corsair CXs.

For those wondering, it's a custom design from CWT, sporting DC-DC regulation, a 40C rating (as opposed to the previous 30C rating) and a five year warranty - it's essentially a cost-friendly version of the Corsair RM series.

Here's JG's review of the Corsair Vengeance, the German variant of the new grey Corsair CXMs, in which OW gave a 9.8. The only differences between the two are the Japanese capacitors and the multi-rail design. You'd be fine with powering a build with a i7 and Titan X with this particular PSU.'

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

I've had bad experience with the old ones. But alright! I'm curious why they'd keep the CX branding though. It has a bad reputation.

Fair enough. Admittedly, several computer hardware companies (including Corsair) have fallen into the habit of confusing naming conventions (looking at you Titan X)...

Just know that these new grey Corsair CXs are fine power supply choices. The only ones that I'd avoid from Corsair are the VS series.
