[ios]Notifications pause music

Hackentosher

This isn't really an issue, but just something I've noticed. Whenever I get a notification while using my iPad and chrome, it pauses my music. It didn't always do this, but it started a week or two ago.

Nothing has changed to do with the notification sound handling code recently, so this must be an Apple or Google change. If you turn off "Play a sound when I receive a notification" in your notification settings, it won't happen, but that will prevent notification sounds from playing on all your devices, not just that one.

as far as i know apple devices (if they havent fixed this honestly *very* 1995 issue) cant play more than one sound source at once, so anything that will make sound will pause music if music is playing.

This has always been the behavior in iOS. Any time I get any notification the song I'm listening to fades mostly out the notification bings and then the song fades back in.

@manikyath The song just fades to quiet, it isn't completely silenced, unless it's maybe only silenced for a fraction of a second and I just never notice.

Yeah it's not an issue of being too primitive - android works like this too by default but you can generally change settings to let music play in the background while watching youtube, or playing a game, etc.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.
