Reusing water cooling?

I have a Point of View 1GB GTX 550Ti and plan on buying a RX480 (not quite sure which and when exactly). My 550Ti will run for at least two more months and has overheating problems, so I wanted to reapply the cooling paste. Then I thought about buying a water cooler that I'll reuse on my RX480.

 

TL;DR: Is it possible to use the same cooler on a 550Ti and on an RX480?

No, different chip locations.

not unless you get one of the cheap "universal" ones that are basicly a CPU AIO cooler and rig a mount for it. but you should just try reapplying the paste and see if that can tide you over.

Yeah, guess I'll have to do it. I just thought I may be able to already buy the proper water cooler because I have to buy the paste anyway.

the paste is like 5$ at my local store and i can find it online for 1$
