Hahaha, my bad! Let's be realistic then ;)

Quoting people lets them know you replied. You can also @Xarrex mention them and they'll get the notification.

The best game is DOTA and it's free. For AAA titles I prefer winning them or trading for them. I haven't spent actual money on a game in a long time. :)

Wow! Thanks for the heads up. I did not know that you have to "quote" someone to reply to their comments/posts!

Nice.

I heard from my teacher that DOTA is fun and I should try it out. I might start around next month!

Welcome! And your teacher sounds like a fun, smart person. If you want lessons or tips feel free to add me on Steam. The URL is in my profile here. Always happy to teach people the joys of DOTA. :D  (can only US West with my internet, and that's when it's working properly)

Ah! I will add you on steam. Tomorrow is Friday, I'll download it. I have a problem, though: crappy laptop :/ but I'm sure I can get decent FPS at the lowest settings.

How does having powerful PC effect what games one does get? Who buys games because of graphics? I wouldn't spend anything to game which would be hollow story, running on rails but looking like a movie. Nope, games need to be entertaining and good to PLAY. Graphics are secondary or even minor thing. Which partially is why I've been getting games with great story/gameplay but with less than awesome graphics.

Yeah, I agree. Games with great stories beat graphic-orientated games. But, sometimes you want to experience beautiful games with beautiful graphics (in my opinion, cause I have never had the chance yet).

Still. Would you get different games if you'd have dream PC than what you are getting now? Or just get same games regardless of what your system is?

Depends. The laptop I'm using cannot really run games. So, I tend to search on Youtube for great, story-driven games.

To answer your question, I would try to get the good, story-driven games regardless of my system's spec. Well, any games that you'll recommend to me, because it seems like you have knowledge of amazing games that I don't even know about.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, @LoGiCalDrm, hope you can list some recommendations!

Thanks, once again!

I was just interested about why would someone change their prefences about what kinda games they like because of hardware they have. I can admit that there are games I would like to have, or would like to use better graphics in. But at the moment I'm more limited with time than resources. I could pick used 280X for 120e ($150) which is much better than my current GPU and capable to run games at high gfx. But so far I haven't felt need since games I play don't require such.

Some of them which run fine and look nice:

  • Bastion & Transistor
  • Trine 2
  • Dust: Elysian Tale
  • Rocket League
  • Ironcast, Bloodgate (not from same maker but very similar gameplay)
  • Highlands
  • BF3 & 4 (I can run BF4 with low med gfx and it doesn't look that bad while having 50-80fps)
  • Hearthstone

There are other platformer games I'd like to get but don't have time to play. Like Ori and the Blind Forest and Child of Light. Also Overwatch and maybe Diabotical (on Kickstarter) from FPS genre. I also bought Anno 2070 but absolutely don't have time to even launch it.

I understand if you only have laptop with limited power that you would like listing of games with good graphics for when you get PC with more juice. Witcher 3, GTAV and Skyrim (or next of the series) are probably the ones with best graphics. Also upcoming Mirrors Edge would go along there. But those are in genres I don't really play and only have watched some gameplay videos.

Thank you very much for your list! I'll keep these games in mind!

Have a great day!
