Is This A Program?

So when I game at night I tend to talk really loud. I'm sure my parents can hear me since the walls are pretty thin. Is there some type of program that can warn you when your mic goes over a certain loudness? It would really help me to be quiet at night and not wake anyone up. Sometimes I just get into the game and I can't help being loud since I can barely hear myself through my headphones.

I do not know of one..... BUT THAT IS A GOOD IDEA. I'm sure somebody on the forums could code this.

OR have someone make a USB device that shocks you every time you red-line your mic  Whatever works!

 

I think it is a pretty cool idea... I want it to "Shush" me, so I hope @savstars adds the ability to input my own .wav/mp3 file for the warning (not that I plan on using it, but it'd be a fun item to post to the Antlion blog)

That's such a good idea maybe you could pick up some sound proofing from eBay and put it on your walls

@AAJoe, thanks for providing these ideas.  I was already thinking doing that exact thing. 

 

I'm thinking the default sound should be a "Shhhh"

I was going to suggest having your own audio file but I didn't want to put more work on you.

I have no problem with you throwing ideas at me @Maihym.  Along the way, I have to make some assumptions, and if someone has already made a suggestion, then I will take advantage of the proposal.

 

If an idea takes too long to implement, then I will say so.

You can use spray adhesive that's what I did and it's like 40$ for a 12 pack of them and they are decently sized

Ehh I guess my parents don't care if I'm loud so I guess I won't bother getting the padding.
